These kits are well worth the money. I have loggers that will buy a new 500i and they won't touch a tree with them until they have me put a suspension kit in it.
Night and day difference, well worth the price.
installed in a 661 bit different than a 500I worked well. is this the only kit available?
Excellent
I've seen some comments online suggesting one could simply determine a different part number and put this kit together for themselves for half as much money.
Two thoughts there. First, I never would have had the idea to try this mod if not for WCS. So that's worth something to me.
Second, I don't believe that's an accurate statement. I can only speak for my 462, but the stop buffers that come with it are completely different than any other stop buffers I've seen for other saws. They are insanely tight, both in terms of getting them inserted and also wedged back into place. Definitely echo the recommendation of a bit of WD40.
Everything is rock solid with the kit installed, but I didn't think there was any adverse effect on vibration, even with a 28" bar.
As for the 36" bar guys, I couldn't imagine trying to run that bar on the 462 without this kit. I mean, I could imagine it, but I don't want to.
