Westcoast Saw Air Cleaner System is made from 65 PPI polyurethane foam and polyurethane flange. The 65 PPI polyurethane foam captures dirt and foreign particulates better than paper or gauze, thus offering superior filtration for your chainsaw. We offer several different types of this air cleaner system to fit your specific needs, including Husqvarna air filters and Stihl . Whether you're a professional or a heavy-duty chainsaw user, this product provides the filtration quality you can rely on.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• This filter requires oiling with a foam filter oil (Do NOT use spray oil). To complement this, we offer BelRay or UniFilter Oil and Cleaner separately, ensuring your air filter remains in optimal condition.

• Your kit includes detailed installation directions - please read these thoroughly for proper setup and maintenance.

• The MS362 air filter intake has a Stud that sticks out from the center, which needs to be cut down for our filter to fit perfectly. The stud touches the foam on the inside, causing it to sit further out against the hood and into the foam. You'll need to trim off the stud for our Air Filter to fit better. Don't cut too much! The rod becomes hollow at some point, and you don't want a hollow stud exposed inside. If you end up cutting it too short, you can use RTV silicone to re-plug it.

   
  If you decide to make this modification, you won't be able to reinstall the OEM air filter. If you desire to do this in the future, you would have to purchase a new OEM air cleaner housing kit to reinstall your stock air filter.

Q. Are Stihl air filters washable?

A. Yes, many Stihl air filters, including the 462 air filter, are washable. Before reapplying foam filter oil, you can clean them by gently rinsing the filter in warm, soapy water and letting it air dry entirely. Frequent cleaning guarantees that the filter will continue to efficiently collect debris and particles, preserving the best possible chainsaw performance.

Q. How often should I change the air filter on my Stihl chainsaw?

A. Use and operating circumstances determine how often you should replace the air filter in your Stihl chainsaw. It is advised to inspect and clean the air filter after every ten hours of use under typical circumstances. You might need to clean or change the filter more frequently if you work in an area that is especially dusty or unclean. For optimal results, always check the filter and replace it when it gets too dirty or broken.
